The primary purpose of the Desktop Administrator position is to provide day to day assistance with the organization, setup, and maintenance of company hardware and technologies.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provides day to day assistance with organization, setup, and maintenance of company hardware and technologies
  • Ensures employee desktops and laptops are functioning properly, troubleshooting issues as needed
  • Completes user account creation for new hire onboarding
  • Evaluates the life cycle of company hardware and peripherals
  • Conducts first day user experience training for new hires
  • Answers, evaluates, and prioritizes incoming requests via phone, email, messaging, and walk-up using strong customer service skills
  • Logs and tracks activities using ticketing software
  • Perform computer hardware maintenance and upgrade tasks including opening desktops/laptops to replace/ upgrade components
  • Assists IT team with server updates and maintenance as needed

Your skills and qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience working with computers
  • One year of work experience within a professional office/business setting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Superior verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills with active listening ability
  • Flexible with ability to prioritize tasks and work within a fast-paced environment
  • High regard for accuracy and attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and strong customer service skills
  • Ability to problem-solve, troubleshoot, and resolve computer and technology issues
  • Takes initiative when working independently as well as able to work collaboratively within a team
  • Knowledgeable in the use of various computers, hardware, software, etc. and a willingness to learn new things
